Why Google Drive, One Drive, and Drop Box they are not a backup storage!

I'm in a bad way here, have lost over a years worth of data files.  Any assistance on how to get google to use a backup copy to overwrite my existing google drive would be appreciated. Given the growth of this virus I'm confident the advice will also help others.

Virus encrypted all google drive files - Cryptolocker virus

I contracted the Cryptolocker virus last week. Came via email, I mistakenly thought the email was a google voicemail and clicked. Minutes later received the dreaded pop-up that my computer was infected and I needed to pay the ransom. Immediately rebooted into safe mode, ran MBAM and AVG. MBAM located infected and deleted files (bad move). By that time the virus had already infected my data files (search web for complete list but included .doc .xls .jpeg .ppt .pdf and more). The killer is that have have been storing my important files on my google drive to protect me from this type of event. Cryptolocker had by this time infected all of my LOCAL google drive files. Even though I don't auto boot google drive when I start my computer it (google drive) apparently SYNCED with the cloud all the files in the background. So now all my files on the google server are encrypted/locked. When I contacted google via chat they told me that my google drive was fine, they scan for viruses before a file is synced. I assume that is correct but the files don't have a virus, they are encrypted by Cryptolocker so you can no longer open them, unless you paid the ransom of $300 within the timeframe allocated and still have the virus on your computer, I don't.

My question and desperate need for help is this – is there any way that google can wipe my cloud drive and re-image/load a backup copy of the drive from a date earlier than the infection (in my case 10/23/13).

This is a real virus and if you google it you will see that it does encrypt your files and locks them. The only solution is a backup drive that is not connected to your system. In my case I thought i had that – my google drive which is what I have used to insure my files are protected from a virus. had not considered if a file got infected and the google drive did an autosync I would lose the file. I have been referred to the revision trail, but it appears from looking at multiple files they have all been changed to show only the latest date (10/23/13) meaning there are no other revision dates to revert to.
